Root Canals – Sometimes the best option
A damaged nerve in a tooth can cause intense pain. Enough to make you forget about eating, sleeping or probably just about everything else. You just want the dentist to pull your tooth out right away. Fret not—that’s not the best option, after all, you don’t want an empty space where your tooth used to be. A root canal may be the better option. This procedure allows you to keep your original teeth and ultimately, that’s the ultimate goal—to retain as many of your original teeth as possible.
If an injured nerve is left unattended, the infection can spread and thus increase the pain above a comfortable threshold. In such cases, we may recommend a root canal. Know that in 90% of our root canal procedures, a simple filling does the trick. In most cases, only a single visit is required.
