Gum Therapy

Pay attention to your gums. They’re the most accurate and sensitive indicator of the oral health of your whole mouth. Often, they will reveal early symptoms of a disorder that, left untreated, could turn into major problems. We offer the following therapies to help you maintain healthy gums:

•  Non-surgical treatments for gingivitis (red, irritated or bleeding gums)

•  Non-surgical and limited surgical treatments for periodontal disease (pus in a tooth socket that causes foul mouth odor, receding gums and – if left untreated – ultimately, tooth loss)

•  Antibiotic regimens to kill bacteria caused by any number of gum diseases, and to promote healing of the affected gum areas

•  Cosmetic gum contouring to give you the best possible smile

Bad breath management

Halitosis – more commonly known as bad breath – can have a number of organic causes. But the effects of leaving it untreated are always the same: people keep their distance. Don’t let a simple, easily controlled problem become a social stigma in your life. Let us give you the benefit of our experience in turning your life back over to you, through

•  Education – We understand that halitosis can be embarrassing and uncomfortable. Through discussions and literature, we’ll explain what’s causing yours, and the options you can choose to combat chronic bad breath.

•  Fresh Breath Program – A variety of oral hygiene techniques and natural products to alleviate bad breath symptoms

Oral Health

Comprehensive Family Dentistry is an integrated approach to oral health. It takes into account everything about your life. In short, we don’t treat just your mouth, we consider your whole person. We recognize that your regular diet and hygiene regimen is the foundation of your overall oral health. We’ll help you put all the pieces together to develop a daily care plan that works with your lifestyle.

•  “The Whole You” Systems Review – Diet analysis, home care analysis, recommendations for effective hygiene tools and supplies, and a plan to optimize their value through proper regular use

•  “Custom Smile” Plan – We’ll work with you to formulate an individual dental maintenance schedule that takes into account your regular activities.

Orthodontics (Braces)

Everyone deserves a broad, beautiful smile.

•  Children’s Orthodontics – We employ a two-phase system of functional appliances and braces to help correct many problems before they can seriously affect your child’s life. Proper corrective action now can permanently eliminate bite misalignment, underdeveloped jaws, narrow arches, crowded teeth, jaw joint issues, airway obstructions, impeded speech development and the problems caused by thumbsucking.

•  Adult Orthodontics – For those who grew up without benefit of corrective appliances, we offer several options, including low- or no-visibility braces, to help you relieve a lifetime of problems. Find out how a modest investment now can save you from continued jaw pain, breathing obstructions, ear pain, speech impediments and sleep interruptions.

Children’s Dentistry

We specialize in providing a positive introduction to dental care for children ages 2-12, so they can maintain a healthy smile and oral health through their teen years and into adulthood.

•  Sensitivity – We understand the fear that sometimes arises regarding x-ray machines and other dental equipment and procedures. We take the time to explain everything to your child, removing the fear of the unknown.

•  Gentle care – We are particularly gentle with children in the implementation of dental procedures.

•  Protective techniques – We use child-safe products and milder, age-sensitive sedation with our young patients.

•  Parent education – Sometimes fear of the dentist begins with parents, and we go out of our way to reduce and remove this fear through thorough education.

Implant dentistry

Today, there’s no need to settle for anything less than a beautiful smile. Esthetic dentistry has made enormous advancements, allowing you to transform your looks. Replace missing, broken or fractured teeth with fully functional and natural-looking implants. A welcome alternative to dentures!

•  Beautiful Teeth Now™ – Our and Procera™ permanent implants from Nobel Biocare™ are built with a root-formed base for stability and service.

•  Bone augmentation – We can replace facial and jaw bone material that has worn away due to the effects of poor dental maintenance or has been lost through trauma.

Porcelain Veneers

We are proud to offer the latest in tooth restoration through the application of Lumineers™ porcelain veneers.

•  Painless – Unlike traditional techniques, this process allows us to bond the veneer to your existing tooth, without painful removal of natural structure.

•  No bulky look – Our veneers are micro-thin (like a contact lens!) but have superior strength

•  Long-Lasting – Backed by a 5-year warranty and clinically proven to last up to 20 years!

•  Customized to the way YOU want to look – no “templates”

Dentures

Dentures don’t provide any value if you can’t wear them because they hurt or won’t stay in. Our proprietary, 5-step process for creating your custom dentures guarantees your satisfaction.

•  Fitting – Our detailed fitting procedure guarantees the most comfortable and healthy fit possible.

•  Appropriate tooth shape – We help you choose the most natural-looking tooth shape to fit your face and what you’re used to seeing (and maybe better!).

•  Fast fulfillment – Our entire denture process, from fitting to delivery, is usually less than a month.

Root Canals (Endodontic Therapy)

No one likes a root canal, but sometimes they’re unavoidable. When you need one, take heart: 90% of our root canal procedures are as simple as having a simple filling done. In most cases, only a single visit is required.

•  Prevention – The best way thing is to avoid requiring a root canal, something that can be done through the use of today’s modern bonding techniques when they’re needed.

•  Rotary file techniques – Current file tools allow for fast material removal with minimal discomfort.

•  Specialists in treating dental trauma – Many root canals are needed as a result of facial trauma. Dr. Weglos is highly trained to respond to such emergency work using advanced techniques for best results.

Extractions

In cases where a tooth can’t be saved, it’s nice to know that you can have your extraction performed right here in the office, where you’re familiar with our team. Our safely administered, on-site sedation assures you of the greatest possible comfort during your procedure.

•  Wisdom teeth (third molar) – This common procedure no longer requires elaborate surgery, and can be performed in the regular chair.

•  Impactions – When a tooth fails to fully emerge through the gums, they can cause pain and inflammation until they’re removed.

•  Unique therapy program – Dr. Weglos performs extractions using his uniquely developed, minimally invasive techniques. This process conserves as much bone as possible, produces minimal swelling and discoloration, and requires less recuperation time.
